Currently in my 8th season of coaching hockey players from the grassroots level all the way to the professional ranks. I am hoping to share my knowledge and experiences in hockey with players from every level and every walk of life.
I spent 5 seasons in the WHL playing for the Regina Pats and the Kelowna Rockets, playing in over 300 WHL regular season games. As a Regina Pat, I represented Canada at the U17 and U18 World Championships, bringing home a gold medal in 2011. During my time in Kelowna I was fortunate enough to be selected by the New Jersey Devils in the NHL Entry Draft, and was able to begin my professional career with them. A stop in Norway to play for Stjernen Elite prior to the conclusion of my playing career, was where I discovered my love for coaching, the club held development ice for all the local players after our practices and I continuously found myself staying late to work with those players.
Upon my return to Canada I immediately jumped into coaching full time, while I attended University. In the summers I found myself on the ice with the Calgary Flames prospects, and groups of WHL/NCAA level players. In turn, the winters were spent coaching AAA and AA teams outside of Calgary. Since moving to Victoria, I have taken over the HPL Island Wolves where we currently run 4 teams at the u11 and u13 levels.
Seeing young athletes that I was able to spend time with hear their name called on Draft day, or receive a scholarship to a NCAA program is something has always made me more proud than anything I ever accomplished during my career. Knowing how many incredible things have happened in my life from this game motivates me to be able to help as many players find themselves in successful situations
